Pianist Tim Horton brings an all-Chopin programme to the University of Kent in Canterbury next Wednesday, 6th May
Respected as a soloist and chamber musician, Tim is regularly invited to perform at major festivals and series across the country. He is currently undertaking a Chopin cycle at Wigmore Hall, which has been consistently praised in the press and which concludes this June. His intimate relationship with the composer’s works was also the subject of a live performance on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ earlier this year.
Tim will open his concert at the University of Kent with Chopin’s Polonaise in F sharp minor, op. 44, followed by the Waltz in A flat major, op. 42 and Three Mazurkas, op. 56. The programme closes with the Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise, op. 22, a work originally conceived for piano and orchestra but often played by piano alone.
This concert is part of the University of Kent’s Music Department spring programming, and is open to members of the public. It takes place at the University of Kent’s Colyer-Fergusson Music Building on 6th May at 1:10pm. For further details, please click here.
