… the Corvus Consort joins forces for their debut album with the Ferio Saxophone Quartet to reimagine compositions old and new to dazzling effect.

Formed in 2018 by Freddie Crowley, the consort has quickly become one of the most innovative and adventurous vocal ensembles presently performing, while Ferio – founded in 2014 – has enjoyed an equally rapid rise to prominence. Their 17-track collaboration is a captivating convergence of modernity and Baroque and Renaissance tradition, in which voices and saxophones alike are deployed to draw fresh colour, emotion and impact from works that – in some cases – are very familiar.

A bold and fascinating recording.
