Wihan Quartet in residence in Norfolk this summer

The Wihan Quartet look forward to their residency at the Music Summer School and Festival in Norfolk this summer.

Taking place this year for the second time at Gresham’s School, Holt, the Music Summer School and Festival welcomes a roster of internationally recognised artists for two weeks of concerts and educational programming.

Respected as some of the foremost interpreters of the Czech chamber music repertoire, the Wihan Quartet have programmed works by two great Czech composers in their concerts at the Festival.

On 11th August, they will perform Mozart’s Quartet no. 23 in F major, K. 590, Prussian, alongside Smetana’s Quartet no. 2 in D minor and Dvořák’s Quartet no. 12 in F major, op. 96, B. 179, American. On 13th August, they will be joined by pianist Anna Tilbrook in a progamme that includes Dvořák’s Piano Quintet no. 2 in A major, op. 81. Details of each of these concerts may be found by following the respective links below.

In addition to their concerts, the Quartet will be in residence at the Festival from 9th – 16th August, during which time three members will offer courses to participants. Leoš Čepický (violin), Jakub Čepický (viola) and Michal Kaňka (cello) will lead classes designed to enable students of all levels to improve technique, refine performance skills and discover new repertoire.
