Corvus Consort and Ferio Saxophone Quartet‘s recording of Giovanni Gabrieli’s O magnum mysterium, from their new album ‘Revoiced’, has been selected as the top track on Apple Music’s “Choral Chill” playlist.

Along with twelve other Baroque and Renaissance works on the album, O magnum mysterium appears in an arrangement by the Consort’s Director Freddie Crowley. Voices and saxophones are assigned to Gabrieli’s two ‘choirs’ respectively, emphasising the antiphonal interplay throughout the piece, and making even more special the moments when the two come together in rich tutti textures.

Tracks from ‘Revoiced’ have now been selected for 9 different editor playlists on Apple Music, and 17 across all streaming platforms, including Spotify’s “Classical New Releases”, Tidal’s “Featured New Albums” and Idagio’s “Editor’s Weekly Picks”.

Released on 1st July on Chandos Records, ‘Revoiced’ is the Corvus Consort‘s debut recording and the Ferio Saxophone Quartet‘s fourth disc for Chandos.
