Tim Horton at Oxford Lieder Festival with Alexander Sitkovetsky and Julian Bliss

Tim Horton looks forward to performing at the Oxford Lieder Festival on Sunday 17th October, as part of a trio with clarinettist Julian Bliss and violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky.

As its headline work, their programme will feature Bartók’s Contrasts for clarinet, violin and piano, written in 1938 and commissioned by the legendary jazz clarinettist Benny Goodman. Taking New York as a connecting theme, the trio will also perform works by Leonard Bernstein and Antonín Dvořák, who lived in New York for several years in the 1890s.

The concert is taking place live in the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building at St Hilda’s College, and will also be streamed live online.

Tickets are available to both in-person and live-streamed events via the Festival website.
