Tim Horton introduces his Wigmore Hall residency

In anticipation of his forthcoming Chopin cycle over two seasons at one of the world’s leading concert venues, pianist Tim Horton speaks about his enduring love for the music of Chopin and the role of ambiguity in determining the greatness of art.

Tim writes that “the cycle…  combines a selection of Chopin’s works interspersed with pieces by composers who influenced him and on whom he had a great influence… My hope is that the refraction of their work through Chopin, and of his through them, will enable the listener to assess their music afresh and appreciate the endless and fascinating ambiguities once more.”

Read Tim’s full introduction on the Wigmore Hall website here.

The first concert in the cycle takes place on December 11th at 7.30pm, and places Chopin’s 24 Preludes, op. 28 alongside Debussy’s Préludes Book II. Following this, Tim returns for the second concert in March with Chopin’s four Ballades and music by Mozart and Szymanowski. More details about this expansive project may be found in this recent news post.

Booking for both concerts now open, with £5 tickets for Under 35s supported by Media Partner Classic FM. Full details and links for purchasing tickets may be found by following the respective links below.
