Tim Horton broadcast by BBC Radio 3

Tim Horton is featured on BBC Radio 3’s Classical Live, performing a work that forms part of his new cycle for Music in the Round.

Host Tom McKinney introduced Tim as “a real draw for audiences in south Yorkshire” in a recent episode of BBC Radio 3’s Classical Live, which showcases some of the finest performances from across the UK and the continent.

Recorded live in Barnsley in 2022, Tim’s reading of Brahms’ 3 Intermezzi, op. 117 may be heard by visiting this link. The programme is available until December 4th, with the introduction to Tim’s performance beginning at 1:23:44.

Tim includes the 3 Intermezzi, described by Brahms as “lullabies of grief”, in his new cycle, which places music by Brahms alongside works from the first and second Viennese Schools. The cycle is promoted by Music in the Round, who will present it over two seasons. The next concert takes place on February 8th 2025, with more details via this link.
