Tim Horton announces new Beethoven cycle

Pianist Tim Horton is pleased to announce the addition of a new Beethoven sonata cycle to his portfolio from 2027, programming them over the course of eight recitals or as best fits the promoter’s own planning.

He is currently engaged in a critically-acclaimed Chopin cycle for Wigmore Hall and has previously performed Beethoven, Schubert and Chopin cycles for Music in the Round.

In their review of his performance of Beethoven sonatas at the Sheffield Chamber Music Festival in 2022, Bachtrack wrote that “Horton brought much colour to the black and white – power and precision, then delicacy and dreams.”

Praised for his “unaffected, heartfelt playing” (The Arts Desk) and “tremendous versatility” (Music Web International), Tim is respected as one of the UK’s leading pianists, equally at home in solo and chamber repertoire, and is regularly invited to perform at major festivals and series across the country. His recent performance at Alfred Brendel’s memorial concert at Barbican Centre with cellist Adrian Brendel was called “beautifully poignant” by The Times in their five-star review.
