Three Tashmina artists are featured on a new CD recording of music by Welsh composer Huw Watkins on Resonus Classics.

Released earlier this month, Huw Watkins: Works For Strings & Piano Trio (Resonus, RES10338) features five works composed between 2009 and 2022 by Watkins, one of the most celebrated British composers working today. Three Tashmina artists are joined by fellow members of Ensemble 360 in this survey of Watkins’ recent works.

Conductor George Vass leads Orchestra Nova in the Little Symphony for strings and the Concertino for violin and strings, with Ensemble 360 violinist Benjamin Nabarro as soloist. Violist Rachel Roberts joins the Leonore Piano Trio (Rayfield Allied) for Watkins’ Piano Quartet, and the Leonore Piano Trio, of which Tashmina artist Tim Horton is the pianist, bookend the programme with the Piano Trio Nos. 1 and 2.
