Solem Lates: from lockdown

The Solem Quartet is excited to present a concert online at 1pm on Thursday 16th July.

Streamed on Facebook, the concert will take the form of a socially-distanced performance in the atmospheric setting of St Giles Church, Camberwell.

The half-hour programme will focus on themes of time and nature, and feature music written in times of isolation by composers including William Byrd, Bela Bartók, Cassandra Miller, Florence Price and Thomas Adès.

Although the performance will be free to stream, donations will be welcomed to support the quartet and their future Solem Lates projects. Donations can be made via the Solem Quartet website.

The full programme will be:

“Ca the Yowes” – Traditional arr. Steph Tress
Warblework I. Leaving, IV. Veery – Cassandra Miller
Mass for Four Voices – William Byrd
“Days” from “The Four Quarters” – Thomas Adès
Ghost Theme – Schumann arr. Will Newell
O Magnum Mysterium – Gabrieli
“Drink To Me Only with Thine Eyes” – Florence Price
Transylvanian Dances – Bartok

You will be able to watch the video on Youtube as below, or via their website here, or via the streaming link on their Facebook page or the Facebook event page.
