Simon Callaghan has been invited to return to Hong Kong next month for a performance of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no. 2 with Pro Arte Orchestra.
This invitation comes after Simon joined the orchestra in March of last year for Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Last year’s concert was a great success, and Simon is thrilled to have been invited back for a second Rachmaninov performance in Hong Kong.
The concert will take place on 1st July in Hong Kong City Hall, conducted by the orchestra’s Music Director Ho-man Choi.
Founded in 2007, Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong provides a far-reaching orchestral training to musicians under the age of 25 in Hong Kong. Many of the orchestra’s players have gone on to study at top-level conservatoires and to perform with professional orchestras all around the globe. The orchestra frequently invites world-class soloists for concerto performances, and Simon looks forward to his second appearance with them next month.
