Following the orchestra’s sell-out and rapturously received launch, són’s next adventure features Classic FM presenter and author John Suchet, who will “unwrap” Beethoven’s most important symphony, the Eroica.
In the first half of the concert, John will explore aspects of Beethoven’s life around the time the Eroica was written, addressing his deafness, his feelings about Napoleon and more. Parts of each movement will be discussed in turn, with illustrations performed by són on stage behind the presenter. John Suchet will be available in the interval to sign copies of his books, following which són will perform the complete symphony.
Conductor and són Artistic Director comments:
“I am really enjoying working with John Suchet on this project, and it is wonderful to have someone of such stature on board with us. He and I are absolutely united in our desire to build bridges with audiences and to facilitate everyone’s on-going engagement with music.”
The concert is 22 April at 8.00pm, Turner Sims Concert Hall, Salisbury Road, Southampton SO17 1BJ. For booking details please click here
