Robin Browning conducts Oxford University Orchestra at the Sheldonian Theatre

On Saturday 21st May 2016, at 8pm, Robin Browning conducts the outstanding Oxford University Orchestra (OUO) in Debussy’s symphonic masterpiece La Mer and Bruckner’s best known and loved Symphony no.7 in E Major.

OUO, the flagship ensemble of the Oxford University Music Society, includes a large number of former members of the National Youth Orchestra and BBC Young Musician finalists. The orchestra runs intensive rehearsals each term culminating in a high-calibre concert in Oxford. Working with this highly talented young orchestra, Robin follows a long line of distinguishes professional conductors including Daniel Harding, Peter Stark, Douglas Boyd, Garry Walker and Sir Roger Norrington. OUO regularly performs with professional soloists who have included Steven Isserlis, Anthony Marwood, Simon Preston, Raphael Wallfisch, Guy Johnston and Thomas Trotter. Steven Isserlis, Midori, and Ian Bostridge are among its patrons.
