Robin Browning announced as new Music Director of the Havant Chamber Orchestra

Robin is absolutely delighted to have been named Music Director of the Havant Chamber Orchestra. An orchestra combining professionals and highly trained amateurs, the HCO have clearly made their mark on Robin who has been their guest conductor on many occasions. “They’re such talented, willing and hard-working players – professional in outlook and spirit, yet refreshingly fun and easy to work with,” Robin says. “We prepare full-length, often rather complex repertoire, sometimes in a limited amount of rehearsal time. The fact that every concert I’ve done with them has been of great quality, often exceeding all expectations, is testament to their skill, energy and dedication.”

The particular collaboration shown below from only a month ago, has been praised with Robin being named as an “excellent director [who] maintained excellent ensemble throughout the evening”. Read the full review here.

The 2015-16 season holds the prospect of many further exciting concert programmes, especially as the HCO have always been known for their innovative programming with Robin at the helm. He is also very keen to maintain strong relationships with soloists that he’s worked with in the past. “I’m keen to continue our fabulous work together, building an even stronger relationship with the audience and welcoming newcomers, as well as exploring the fabulous Chamber Orchestra repertoire further.”

Keep an eye out for updates!
