Robert Plane performs Clarinet Quintets with Elias Quartet at Gower Festival

Robert Plane will join the Elias String Quartet at Gower Festival on 14th July to perform Clarinet Quintets by Bliss and Brahms.

Founded in 1976, the Gower Festival brings internationally-acclaimed artists to perform in ancient rural churches all over the Gower Peninsula of south-west Wales. Rob and the Elias Quartet will be performing at the Church of St Rhidian and St Illtyd’sLlanrhidian, a 13th-century church on the northern side of the peninsula.

The combined ensemble particularly looks forward to playing Arthur Bliss’s Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet, which they will go on to perform at Wigmore Hall on Sunday 17th July. Rob will also feature in Brahms’s Clarinet Quintet in B minor, op. 115, the final item in a programme that opens with Schubert’s Quartettsatz in C minor, D. 703 for string quartet.

Tickets can be purchased via this link for the concert, which takes place at 7:30pm on Thursday 14th July.
