Taking place at St Andrew’s Church, Corbridge, the concert will feature chamber music by Haydn, Bartók, Weiner and Brahms in varying instrumental combinations. Robert Plane will perform in Leó Weiner’s Peregi verbunk for clarinet and piano and Bartók’s Contrasts for clarinet, violin, and piano, programmed alongside piano trios by Haydn and Brahms.
All revenue from the concert will be put towards this year’s Corbridge Chamber Music Festival, which is due to take place 28th-31st July. Featuring a packed diary of seven concerts and six other events, all in the space of four days, the Festival programme is now available on the Festival website, with ticket sales opening on 16th May.
Rob and the Goulds will perform in many of the concerts, alongside their guest performers the Elias String Quartet and double-bassist Roberto Carrillo-Garcia, and they also look forward to working with poet and narrator Sinéad Morrissey and composer in residence Piers Hellawell. The music of Pamela Harrison will be spotlighted during the Festival, with an exhibition dedicated to her life and work, a ‘come and play’ performance of an orchestral work, and Rob’s performance of her Clarinet Sonata.
Tickets for the fundraiser concert will be available on the door at St Andrew’s Church, Corbridge.
