Monte Piano Trio at Highgate International Chamber Music Festival

The Monte Piano Trio are back in London to take part in Highgate International Chamber Music Festival – the annual classical chamber music festival which brings together outstanding chamber musicians from around the world for one week of music making in the heart of North London.

The Monte Piano Trio’s pianist Irina Botan, violinist and composer Natalie Klouda and cellist Ashok Klouda founded the Festival in 2012 and continue to co-direct the programme. ‘Ode to Joy!’ is the theme of this year’s Festival – celebrating many of the most positive aspects of humanity through individually themed concerts, such as humour, generosity and love. The Festival will also pay tribute to Lord Yehudi Menuhin (celebrating 100 years since his birth), Shakespeare (400th anniversary of his death) and Ludwig Van Beethoven who took Schiller’s inspirational text and made it the centre piece of his 9th Symphony.

The Monte Piano Trio – Francesco Sica (violin), Claude Frochaux (cello) and Irina Botan (piano) – will perform Natalie Klouda ‘Fantasy Triptych’ Piano Trio No.1 on the 28 th November at 7.00pm in a programme entitled ‘Gifts and Collaborations’. The trio also performs in the ‘Gala Concert: Youth & Energy’ on Sunday 4 December at 6.30pm, when they will play the Enescu Piano Trio no.2 . Both concerts take place in St Anne’s Church,106 Highgate West Hill, London N6 6AP.
