Following the highly successful pilot performances of Concerteenies’ brand-new Musical Stories, which took place at ten different SSELP nurseries and schools across Sheffield, the videos are now available online. These include ‘Mixed’, featuring harpist Louise Thomson, a well-loved regular at Concerteenies.
Composer Paul Rissmann was commissioned to write five pieces, each based on a children’s book and performed by a professional solo instrumentalist with Polly Ives:
The Dinosaur Department Store by Lily Murray and Richard Merritt, composed for narrator and solo cello
The Dog Who Could Dig by Jonathon Long and Korky Paul, composed for narrator and solo marimba
Mixed by Arree Chung, composed for narrator and solo harp
Mouse and Bear by Kev Payne, composed for narrator, solo B flat clarinet and bass clarinet
Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival, composed for narrator and solo viola
