Linos Festival this weekend – Song, Magic and Transfiguration

The Linos Piano Trio is thrilled that their festival can go ahead this weekend with a small socially distanced audience. If you can be in Cologne, do buy a ticket to one or more of the fascinating concerts listed below.

Each event will be live-streamed too, and available via OnJam. Click on a concert below to find the appropriate link for the live-stream, under ‘Tickets or registration’.

The Linos Festival is the only chamber music festival of its kind in Cologne and was founded by the trio in 2019. This year’s Festival takes its theme from the Trio’s ongoing project Stolen Music, a series of trio arrangements of orchestral masterpieces in which the members of the Linos Piano Trio work collaboratively to reimagine the works as if they had been originally written for the piano trio. Alongside their guests Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir (soprano) and Simone von Rahnden (née Jandl – viola), they will navigate a colourful programme of chamber music standards, orchestral works, new music and more, with four concerts over three days at Cologne’s Orangerie Theater. The programmes will include selected works from the trio’s upcoming second studio album, also themed around ‘Stolen Music’, and due to be released this summer by CAvi music and the Bayerischer Rundfunk.
