Tashmina artist Hiroaki Takenouchi visited Trinity Laban last month for a special event celebrating International Women’s Week.
Hiroaki Takenouchi was invited to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in March to perform a lecture recital in celebration of International Women’s Week.
Additionally, he spent a morning giving lessons to select piano students from the Conservatoire, one of whom reflected that the session had “brought me to consider my own connections to the music I play, as well as inspiring me to keep bringing rarely played works into the concert space”.
Hiroaki’s recital featured the music of four female British composers that he has championed, Doreen Carwithen, Dorothy Howell, Caroline Reinagle and Madeleine Dring. Their music is the subject of his recent release Danza Gaya (Lyrita, 2024) with Simon Callaghan, and was the centerpiece of his recital earlier this year at Kettner Concerts. In September, Hiroaki will include Dorothy Howell’s Three Preludes in his appearance at Sprotborough Music Society in Yorkshire, details of which may be found via the link below.
