Heath String Quartet perform across the British Isles this summer

One of the most acclaimed British string quartets, the Heath String Quartet look forward to a summer that sees them perform across the UK and Ireland, including performances at Wigmore Hall and at festivals in England, Wales and Ireland.

Respected for their dynamic and committed performances, the Heath String Quartet’s notable engagements have included a two-season residency at Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal, their Barcelona debut in Palau de la Musica Catalana, a Beethoven series at Bath Festival, debuts at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Saffron Hall and Cheltenham Festival, as well as concerts at Handelsbeurs Ghent, Aldeburgh, and Norfolk & Norwich festivals. Recent seasons have included a tour of the USA, a live broadcast with Steven Osborne for the BBC Proms and an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s ‘How to Play’.

This summer, the quartet will bring a programme of works by Britten, Mozart, Suk and Schumann to the Llandielo Music Festival on 13th July and to Cambridge Summer Music on 16th July. The following day sees them give a concert at the Lichfield Festival, where they will contrast music by Mozart and Locke with later works by Lyadov, Suk and Schumann. On 18th July, the quartet travels to Northumberland to perform for Music in Allendale. On 26th July, the quartet return to Wigmore Hall with a morning concert of music by Britten, Mozart and Schumann, and Buckinghamshire’s Latimer Festival welcomes them on 16th August.

Committed educators, the Heath String Quartet will compliment their work as faculty members at the Guildhall School for Music and Drama with coaching engagements at leading educational programmes this summer. This weekend, the quartet will coach young artists at Pro Corda in Suffolk, and later this month they will give a performance as Visiting Ensemble at the ConCorda Chamber Music Course in Limerick.
