Gould Piano Trio open new season in Morpeth

The Gould Piano Trio open the new season of Morpeth Music Society later this month with a programme of works by Hummel, Eben and Tchaikovsky.

North England’s Morpeth Music Society‘s 2024-25 season opens on 17th October with a highly-anticipated performance by the Gould Piano Trio.

The trio have programmed Hummel’s Piano Trio no. 1 in E flat major, op. 12 alongside Czech composer Petr Eben’s Piano Trio, and devote the entire second half of the concert to Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor, op. 50, ‘In memory of a great artist’.

The Gould’s 2012 recording of this monumental work for Champs Hill received critical acclaim upon its release, including a 5 star review from BBC Music Magazine.

The concert takes place at the Morpeth Methodist Church, and entrance is free for under 18s. Tickets and more information may be found by following the link below.
