Robert Plane and the Gould Piano Trio look forward to a string of four concerts across Scotland and Northern England running from 10 – 14 December.
These three Scottish concerts will feature the same programme, concluding with Messiaen’s towering ‘Quartet for the End of Time’, the work which initially brought these players together more than 25 years ago. The programme will also include ‘Four Fables’ by Huw Watkins, commissioned specially for the ensemble in 2018 and conceived as a partner piece for Messiaen’s quartet.
The last concert of the mini-tour takes place on Tuesday 14th December at Cockermouth Music Society, where they will once again perform ‘Four Fables’, this time alongside music by Farrenc and Saint-Saëns.
