Conductor George Vass has been shortlisted for this year’s Gramophone Awards for his recent recording on BIS Records.

The album of British piano concertos features works by Tippett, Britten and Walton, performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and pianist Clare Hammond under Vass’ direction. Released in October 2025 to critical acclaim, his contribution to the album was described by Gramophone as “a wholly immersive, keenly responsive display”, with The Arts Desk writing that the concertos were “perfectly judged and accompanied sympathetically by Vass”.

The album is nominated in the concerto category of the awards, which are co-hosted by Presto Music. The winners will be announced on Wednesday 7th October.
