Ferio Saxophone Quartet records third Chandos disc

The Ferio Saxophone Quartet enjoyed three days of sessions in May, recording their newest CD, this time in collaboration with pianist Timothy End.

The disc features new arrangements of works by Georges Bizet, Dmitri Shostakovich and Iain Farrington, as well as original music for saxophone quartet and piano by Pedro Iturralde.

The disc is due for release in November on the Chandos record label, with a launch concert at St Matthew’s Church, Westminster. More details will follow over the next few months.

Recorded in St Paul’s Knightsbridge, this will be the quartet’s third CD release for Chandos, after Flux in 2017 and Revive in 2018.

Plans are already underway for their fourth Chandos disc, which will be recorded later this year.
