Ferio on Radio 3 In Tune this evening

Flux Radio 3 In Tune

The Ferio Saxophone Quartet are on In Tune this evening to chat to Sean Rafferty about their disc, ‘Flux‘ – released this month and the first in a series of recordings for Chandos Records.

‘Flux’ features original works written for saxophone quartet by composers ranging from Gabriel Pierné and Jean-Baptiste Singelée to Eugène Bozza and Guillermo Lago (who wrote The Wordsworth Poems for Ferio).

On the programme (available for 30 days) you will be able to hear live performances of some of the music on ‘Flux’:

  • Sarajevo, from Ciudades by Guillermo Lago
  • With ships the sea was sprinkled, from The Wordsworth Poems by Guillermo Lago (premiere recording)
  • Presto, from Quartet in F minor for Saxophone Quartet by Reinhart

Their ever popular ‘Hoe Down’ might also make an appearance!

Ferio will be performing  at Lichfield Festival this Thursday at 11am
