Corelli from ‘Revive’ on Sarah Walker’s Radio 3 Sunday Morning programme

Lovely to hear the Ferio Saxophone Quartet’s recording of Corelli’s Concerto Grosso op. 6, no. 8 (3rd movement) played on Sarah Walker’s BBC Radio 3 Sunday Morning programme.

The programme was broadcast on Sunday 14th June, and you can listen again by following this link, with the Ferios’ Corelli beginning at 1:14:39.

This movement by Corelli, arranged by Iain Farrington, was recorded by the quartet as part of their 2018 disc on the Chandos label, ‘Revive’, which features a collection of Baroque works transcribed and arranged for saxophone quartet. The disc received critical acclaim, with Gramophone describing the players as “natural singers, phrasing supplely and expressively”.

The members of the quartet are currently working on a new Baroque project, this time a collaboration, with a video due to be released next month.
