Tashmina artist Hiroaki Takenouchi has released a second single from his forthcoming album with Simon Callaghan: Danza Gaya: Music for Two Pianos.
Pamela Harrison: Dance Little Lady for piano duet is the second of two singles now available from pianist Hiroaki Takenouchi’s new album Danza Gaya: Music for Two Pianos, which will be released worldwide on 1st March on Lyrita Recorded Edition. The album features music by three prolific but little-known British composers: Dorothy Howell (1898-1982), Pamela Harrison (1915-90), and Madeleine Dring (1923-77). The first single, released earlier this month, is the titular piece, Madeleine Dring: Danza Gaya.
Alongside his love for the classical masters, Hiroaki is known for championing the music of lesser-known British composers including Alexander Campbell Mackenzie, Sterndale Bennett and Parry. For BBC Radio 3’s Composer of the Week he was invited to record music of Hélène de Montgeroult, Doreen Carwithen and Johanna Müller-Hermann amongst others, as part of BBC Radio 3’s initiative, the ‘Forgotten Women Composers Project’.
