A colourful programme from Trio Meister Raro

Trio Meister Raro look forward to performing beloved masterpieces and fascinating rarely-heard works in their concerts this year.

The Trio, formed of clarinettist Robert Plane, violist Rachel Roberts and pianist Tim Horton, was formed in 2022 as natural extension of their work together as members of Ensemble 360. Their current programme embraces the elements of storytelling and narrative that are woven into so much of the repertoire written for this ensemble.

For this programme, Schumann’s Märchenerzählungen, op. 132 is placed alongside Debussy’s Première Rhapsodie and Edwin York Bowen’s Phantasie, op. 54, with Huw Watkins’ Speak Seven Seas and Josef Holbrooke’s Nocturne, op. 57, no. 1, Fairyland, preceding Mozart’s Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano in E flat major, K. 498, Kegelstatt.

Individually, the members of Trio Meister Raro perform extensively as chamber musicians and soloists across the UK and beyond. Their concerts together this year will take place at the Guiting Music Festival in Gloucestershire in July, and for the Cockermouth Music Society in Cumbria in December. Details for both concerts may be found via the links below.
