4th June – Elgar Unwrapped with presenter David Owen Norris and són

Robin Browning

Join conductor and founder of the professional orchestra són, Robin Browning and David Owen Norris – the presenter of són’s highly successful Sibelius Unwrapped concert last year – for Elgar Unwrapped on the 4th June at Turner Sims and be taken on a journey through Edward Elgar’s touching and inspiring Enigma Variations.

During the first half of the concert David Owen Norris presents excerpts at the keyboard  with full orchestra, immersing the listener in all 14 of Elgar’s musical portraits – ‘unwrapping’ the music, its stories, its meaning and presenting all the signposts needed to enjoy the work’s complete performance in the second half.

This Sunday afternoon teatime concert is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a summer afternoon, complete with tea and a slice of cake at the interval included in the ticket price, in celebration of Elgar’s 160th birthday which falls on the 2 Jun.
