Barnes Music Festival: London

As part of the Festival’s 10th anniversary celebratory edition, revered clarinettist Robert Plane returns to the Barnes Music Festival. Rob plays alongside the Sacconi Quartet, who are also marking their own important anniversary, this performance falling in their twentieth season.
To celebrate the music of Sir Arthur Bliss, who was born in Barnes, the centrepiece of their programme will be Bliss’s extremely melodious Clarinet Quintet. The quintet rounds off an hour-long programme, which also features music for strings by Henry Purcell and Rebecca Clarke’s Prelude, Allegro and Pastorale for clarinet and viola.
Two performances: 6pm and 8pm
Purcell Fantasia no. 6 in F major
Purcell Chacony in G minor, arr. Benjamin Britten
Purcell Fantasia no. 11 in G major
